About Me

I am a masters student at Carnegie Mellon's Human-Computer Interaction Institute, where I am using user-centered research combined with my background in literature, writing, and editing to design and build technology grounded in human needs. My projects center around game, interaction, and instructional design meant to help people understand the story of the world around them. I am interested in designing empathetic technology that enhances learning and the quality of life of students of all ages. When I am not creating wireframes, doing user testing, and designing interactions, I like to explore new places near and far, read, and go to the gym. I can be reached at sbutler [at] post [dot] harvard [dot] edu.
