Incorporating human-centered research and design at the world’s largest education company.
Adobe After Effects
Solidus, a multidisciplinary team of Human-Computer Interaction students, embarked on a seven-month capstone project to investigate the data needs of instructors in higher education math classes. In partnership with Pearson Education, the world’s largest education company, Solidus employed human-centered research techniques to unearth the challenges instructors face in assessing students while working in online learning systems. This summer, we are using an usability-focused, iterative design methodology to build a hi-fidelity, interactive data display system that will meet instructors’ informational needs.
I have contributed substantively to the needsfinding and research analysis, interaction design and user testing, and product concept development. As project manager, I have also coordinated the team’s schedule, progress, and task assignments. I have also played a major role in the composition of our research and design reports and the design of our prototype. Due to the nature of this project, I cannot provide further details here.
